Back in the saddle again....

A sure sign of spring is classes and shows starting up again. The Stoney Creek QG hosted the first of the season - the Applique Buffet workshop - to give members a chance to try out some different machine applique techniques together with various threads by Superior.



When composing blocks it's easy to baste with Roxanne's Glue-Baste-It. Just apply some small dots along the perimeter, on the wrong side of your shape, and then press in place on the background fabric with a hot dry iron.



The default setting is just a place for the machine to start at, it's not necessarily the optimum setting. By altering your stitch length and width, and keeping samples of the results, we can often find interesting new looks, as Ginny did with this stitch:

Keeping my fingers crossed for good road conditions this week - my threads and I are off on a road trip to both the Ganaraska QG and the Quilters Pleasure Weekend in Cornwall. The season has officially started!
