Windsor workshop

A fun day day sharing the Open Thread Bar™ workshop with 20 members of the Windsor QG. It certainly looks as if choosing thread is a very serious proposition, at least for Diane, Libby and Jeannie!



I love the way Libby organized her sample pages for each individual thread: a line of straight stitching with tension going from 0 to 10 so that she could see what was happening with the threads on top and underneath. Then she picked out a few very cool decorative stitches to stitch out. Now when she refers back to those pages she'll be able to see how those same stitches differed with each thread.


This quilt is being constructed in the quilt-as-you-go manner, and take a look at this - a very funky, bold wholecloth on the back!


Edith shared her block from Sharon Pederson's "Rose of Sharon" patterns. Instead of using bias strips she blanket stitched along those bias placement lines:
