Doily love

Doilies - those funny little crocheted things that everybody loves to hate. The dirty little secret that many have stashed away, not wanting to hurt an old auntie's feelings, but not knowing what to do with them. Fibre artist Judy Gascho-Jutzi knew exactly what to do!
First, a little transformation was in order:
Fabric stiffener and manipulation to scrunch everything up:
Lots of stitching to add texture:
