Expanding one's horizons

It's exciting to find all sorts of treasures at the quilt show, but even better when the treasures are people. At the recent York Heritage QG show we were treated to demos by some incredibly talented people covering a wide range of topics.

Gordana Brelih is an artist whose work is breathtaking. And compelling. Layer upon layer of stitching, and burning, and colour. Definitely drawing the viewer in:



Anne Marie Desaulniers shared her heavily beaded pieces, and the process involved in creating them, with the audience:

Gunnel Hag enthusiastically showed us how we could simply and effectively make our mark on fabrics with surface design - often using artist's tools such as potato mashers! Visit her site to find supplies, classes and inspiration.
